Happy December! I’m actually in shock that the year is almost over. It’s like every year of motherhood goes by faster than the last. If you’re like me, you blinked and suddenly Christmas is less than a week away. I wanted to share some of my favorite pieces and looks for this month for all of you who might be struggling to put together a comfy holiday look or find the perfect gift for your sister-in-law.
I get a lot of questions about how I find clothes on Amazon. I get it: Amazon Prime is an amazing tool for a mom, but it’s also kind of intimidating to shop for fashionable pieces when you have to sort through thousands of results. So in the spirit of two-day-shipping, I wanted to share some of my favorites with you all!
Stay tuned until the end for some last minute gift guides for him, her, and toddlers (Emerson approved).
Casual and Cozy for Christmas Eve

Now that I’m in my late twenties (or maybe it’s because I’m a mom of a toddler), I discovered that I’m no longer about that fancy dress and heels life. Every year on Christmas Eve, we celebrate with family and friends at my in-laws’ house. That’s where we take our Christmas photos, drink, and socialize, so we’re often spending Christmas day in pajamas. The past couple of Christmas Eves, I’m drawn to jeans, booties, and a really great sweater. Usually, I’m all about neutrals, but this year I really wanted something festive but subtle. I’ve heard so many great things about the Cable Stitch brand on Amazon (tip #1 for shopping on Amazon: check the reviews!), so I was super excited to find this one. It’s colorful but subtle, and the print makes me think of Christmas lights. The quality also feels amazing. It’s thick, but not too heavy for Texas. I’m wearing a medium, which is the perfect combination of slightly loose but in a flattering way that doesn’t drown me. I paired it with this soft and cozy Nike beanie because I’m all about mixing casual/preppy and athleisure looks. The color on this is perfect! It’s a silvery grey that looks pretty neutral, but up close has a frosty purple tone. I’m in love.

Winter Athleisure Look

Since I work from home and chase my toddler all day, this is a more realistic daily outfit for me. I probably only wear jeans once a week. The rest of the time, I’m in pajamas or leggings. While I own several pairs of black leggings, these might be my new favorite. As a curvy girl, I’m pretty picky about my leggings too. I tend to prefer leggings with a more athletic feel because cotton isn’t 100% forgiving on my figure. Plus, I need them to stay in place. These definitely fit that bill. They’re high-waisted and do NOT move from my waist, but they’re also stretchy enough that I don’t feel like I’m suffocating. Also, they’re thick enough that I can wear them with this hoodie and you can’t see my booty through them. They are slightly long on me, but I often run into that problem (I have thick hips/thighs and short legs). I’m also loving the frosty colors on this sweatshirt for winter. I’ve been on the hunt for some quality rain boots that aren’t crazy expensive, and these are great. I also have thicker calves but these fit me perfectly.

Blue Light Blocking Glasses

I posted about these on Instagram last week, but I had to share them here too since I found them on Amazon and, honestly, I’m obsessed. Let me start by saying I don’t wear prescription glasses. My husband does and has already thoroughly made fun of me for thinking these are “cute.” They do have a function, though! I spend 90% of my day staring at a screen. I work from home 29 hours/week and do a lot of photo editing and social media work. Plus, like many people, I’m totally guilty of staying up way too late laying in bed, scrolling myself into a black hole. It’s a bad habit that I’m trying to break, so I thought I’d give these blue light blocking glasses a try, which are supposed to filter out some of that harmful blue light from screens that makes us wired, gives some people headaches, and prevents us from falling asleep at night. Of course, these haven’t completely cured my night-time scrolling, but I do wear them every day and get fewer headaches and feel like I’m falling asleep faster. Plus, they’re super cute so I’m more motivated to wear them.

Holiday Jammies

I’m such a sucker for matching family pajamas since we had Emerson. I especially love these by Burts Bees Baby. We bought some from them last year and I wore mine year-round. They’re made from organic cotton and are so soft and comfy. Plus, they have the cutest prints. I’m pretty sure these are mostly sold out now (they sell out so fast every year!), so I’m also linking some holiday pjs I picked up from Target and also love, along with my new favorite slippers from Amazon. I’m wearing them right now and they’re so warm, soft, and cozy. I have cold tile flooring downstairs and my feet are always freezing in the winter because I have terrible circulation. Also, fun fact: Emerson keeps petting the top of these slippers because they’re so damn soft. Haha. He also routinely brings them to me if I’m not wearing them so he can put them on my feet like I’m Cinderella.

Gift Guides
I also put together some Amazon lists for you, filled with products I love for myself, for Dallas, and for Emerson. So if you’re looking for some last minute gift ideas for her, him, and toddler-approved gifts, head over to my Amazon page to shop with me. I’m always updating it because I’m 100% addicted to Amazon Prime (and because I hate dragging Emerson shopping with me). There’s still a few days left to order through Amazon Prime and get gifts in time for Christmas so go, go, go!
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and last couple weeks of 2018! See you next year!
